Every year the National Aquarium offers refuge and rehabilitation to sea turtles that are stranded due to cold stunning during their migration. I was hired to illustrate and animate their journey from egg to, to sea, to shore. The style needed to be scientific enough to be educational but also stylized enough to be interesting. With this goal in mind I created illustrations that emulate the style of a scientist documenting their observations in a field journal.

The illustrations appear in a blog post by the National Aquarium detailing the Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle lifecycle.
